What is with the sound my lab is making?

Every time my lab lies down she lets out a moan, not a cry or nothing, just a moan. Could there be something hurting her where she has to moan, or is it just something she does possibly? What is with the sound my lab is making?
Most dogs let out a big sigh / moan when they lay down, the bigger the dog the more pronounced it is.

If the dog's relatively young I'd say it's contentment.

If she's an older dog, talk to your vet about her joints. She maybe getting stiff.

All and all unless it becomes chronic (if she moans all the time or shows other symptoms of possible distress) I won't worry about it.

.What is with the sound my lab is making?
It can be all different reasons.. She coul be tired she could be sick.. I would probably take her to the vet just in case:) She could just not be feeling good:( Good Luck
It's like a sigh. They are just relaxing and settling down.
Dogs make that noise when they are tired or bored.
I have a lab too.He does it too is it kinda like this......(put your chin down and do a short hum.) It is KINDA like it not really tho. But tell a vet just in case.
my dog did this too it could be for many reasons like shes really tired or yeah it could be possible that there's a muscle that hurts when shes getting into the laying down position. But i would go to your vet just to be safe hope i helped!!
My black lab does this all the time, he is 12 years old now. nothing to worry about.
is it more of a sigh or a moan? a sigh just might mean she is happy to lie down. a moan might mean the same thing but it might alos mean that she is in some kind of discomfort. dose she seem happy when you talk to her when she is lying down? if so, then she may have a little bit of discomfort in her hip while she is getting ti lye down. give your vet a ring and tell them about it.
It is probably just a 'sigh', she could be bored or just lazy.

Does the moan EVER sound like a whimper? If so she may have sore joints, and glucosamine or chondrotin will help that.

Talk to your vet.
It's the human version of ';ahhhh'; usually. My dogs do it and do not have hip and joint problems.
