How can i get my computer to stop making noise?

I think it's the fan, but I'm not positive. How can i get my computer to stop making noise?
Silencing your PC is a good thing, but it all depends on how far you want to go.

If you are trying to isolate a particular noise, try opening the case and turn the computer on. Make sure nothing is touching your electrical components that normally isn't touching. Opening the case is not dangerous and, as a matter of fact, you might want to get some canned air and blow out any lint, dirt, dust. Just make sure you don't turn the canned air upside down and especially don't do this while you are running the PC.

Open the case and put it where you can see/hear the components. Reconnect your mouse, Keyboard, video cable (going to the monitor) and power cable. Turn the PC on. Everything should come up fine and you'll *hopefully* be able to isolate what is causing the noise. Once isolated go to the guide and you may want to ask again to get a more definitive answer.

I've attached a guide to silencing your computer. (from simple to going on the deep end. (also notice the links at the bottom of that page)

Good luck! How can i get my computer to stop making noise?
Computers make noise. Fans, harddrives, disc drives, battery. It all makes noise. Either invest in some crazy heat sinks, liquid cooling, or just turn it off if it's too noisy. Usually keeping the room the computer in nice and cool will make the fans not work as hard.
Try re-seating all cables.

Or

Nah, don't think if there is any other way...
Shoot it with a .45
Clean or replace the fan. see if the fan is touching ant thing.
Unplug it.
if its older, open it up and dust it. when the dust builds up it can make it heat up faster and over work it.
